Senior Parents,
Senior Night is Friday, October 28, 2011
Senior Night is a special event offered to eligible seniors who actively participate in organizations playing a role in FMHS Varsity Football games. These groups include: Football Players, Managers, Athletic Trainers, Marching Band, Color Guard, Rosettes, Cheerleaders and AFJROTC. Senior Night is held on the last home football game of the year, which will be October 28th this year. Eligible seniors are escorted onto the stadium field by their parents (or escorts) and their names are announced over the public address system. Special photographs can be taken as parents and their graduating student exit the stadium.
To ensure the evening runs smoothly, we need the names of the escorts for your student no later than Tuesday, October 25th. Submitting your names as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated since there are many seniors and their parents to acknowledge this year.
While it is understood that there are special situations regarding deceased parents, parents with different names and blended families, school policy dictates that no more than two parents/guardians are allowed on the field to escort your student. Siblings and other family members must view the proceedings from the bleachers with the rest of the fans.
Please be aware that this event does not allow parents/escorts/families to enter free of charge. Therefore, parents, guardians, siblings, and extended family must purchase a ticket to enter the stadium for this event and the game. Tickets will be sold at a reduced price, $5 for adults and $4 for students (K-12) in the lobby of the front office Thursday before school and during all lunch periods (11:30 am – 2 pm). Friday ticket sales will be before school.
We have a designated entrance for our senior honorees and their escorts. The gate is located just to the east (or left) of the “WE ARE FLOWER MOUND” entrance located at the north end of the home stands. We will have someone there to check you in (you will keep your ticket) and direct you to the field.
Students and their escorts need to be on the track at the north end of the stadium no later than 6:15 PM. Dr. Watson, FMHS Assistant Principal, will be your contact person on Senior night. Questions the evening of Senior night should be directed to him. You will receive a card with your students name and a number to assist you in the lineup. Names will be announced in the order listed on these cards. Each group will be escorted on the field. Once your group has finished being introduced, you will be escorted off the field. Once you are off the turf, you will be able to take pictures.
You will then be escorted out of the stadium and re-enter through the south entrance gate (you will surrender your ticket at this time) to join your family and friends in the stands. Seniors will join their respective groups.
School appropriate attire is mandatory. Dress code for parents/escorts is your choice. Since this is a football game, dress comfortably.
Thank you for helping us make this night special for your senior. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, October 28th!
